Nihao everyone!
We arrived safely into Beijing today at 3:00 without a hitch and made our way to the Beijing Dongjiaominxiang Hotel right outside of Tiananmen Square. We ate dinner at a local noodle restaurant in a local neighborhood where we feasted on noodles, soup, dumplings and small dishes from the Shanxi region of China. Tomorrow we’ll be up early for the 5am Flag raising ceremony in Tiananmen Square, a tour of a local hutong neighborhood with our guide, Michael Crook, and a visit to the Forbidden City. Hopefully we stave off the jetlag soon!
